Paradise Waits
2003 | Paradise Waits is a series of digital photographs of headstones arranged to produce a poem using the surnames on the stones as text. The surnames, and by extension the individuals they represent, are removed from the static, dead space of the cemetery and given new life through language. The poem reads as follows:
Romeo, fearing love, waits to woo
Dares chase grace
Combs woods, freshwater brooks
Silent hazard burns
Love learned, paradise waits
